Another 2024 CS grad over here!
I couldn’t find many resources for this particular role, so I thought I’d share my experience. It might be helpful to you. I didn’t make it through, but it was a great interview experience as I haven’t attended many interviews.
Applied in Zoho's job portal for Software Developer role, after a month got a call for this Software Debug Engineer role. Phone call was about what skills i have and about the role.
Note: Every rounds happened offline in a single day.
Round 1: Aptitude + Code outputs
This round had 15 aptitude and 10 tech questions, You wont be given choices, have to write the direct answers.
Round 2: Coding Round
- Had given 9 questions in a paper, had to code as mush as you can, preferably Java or C++, Offline IDE will be provided to you.
- I would rate the problems to leetcode medium to hard, covering basics, string operations and linear data structures.
- Did 7 out of 9. During the last few minutes, you will be supposed to run the program and explain in approach for few questions.
Round 3: Technical Round
- Went to around 40 to 50 mins.
- Started with intro and resume grinding, about my project, then he asked my solve a problem which I couldnt solve earlier in the round 2. Solved it in paper and explained the approach, missed a edge cases and he gave a hint and solved it.
- Asked me to solve one apitude question which i had in 1st round, i am not good at apitude so i said it to him, then he asked me how i approach, gave an approach to him.
- Then started rapid fire, I mean started technical questions as follows, OOPS concepts and their definition, SQL concepts and some sql query definitions, DBMS, and so on asked a lot. It went great. At the end he told i will be having another round.
Round 4: HR
Started with intro, explaination about the role, family background and general HR questions, nothing much.
Excatly after 2 weeks got a rejection mail. Nice :)
