I had the opportunity to participate in Amazon HackOn, which eventually led to my interview process for the Amazon SDE internship. Here’s how my journey unfolded:

9th September: I received an interest form from Amazon.

13th September: I got the Online Assessment (OA) link. There were two coding questions:

An easy-medium problem that involved using a map (similar to a LeetCode-style question). I was able to pass all test cases.
A string manipulation problem involving wildcard matching, where I managed to pass 11 out of 15 test cases.
After the coding section, I was asked to complete a Work Style Assessment and a survey.

17th September: I received an invite for the technical interview, which was scheduled for 24th September.

24th September (Interview Day): The interview consisted of two medium-level coding questions. I was able to solve both within the allotted time while maintaining the correct time and space complexity. Although my solution for the second question could have been optimized, I was happy with my performance overall.

Toward the end of the interview, I had a brief conversation with the interviewer about Amazon’s culture and their personal experience working at the company. The interview concluded on a positive note.

Yesterday: I received an email stating that my candidature is currently waitlisted. The email mentioned that Amazon will reach out to me should there be any progress in the status.
