Meta | E5 | Warsaw, Poland

Hi Everyone,

Recently, I was interviewed for the Enterprise Engineering Role at Meta. The recruiter mentioned that the final level is going to either E4/E5 depending upon my interview performance.

There were 5 round overall.

Technical Screening

Two problems were asked during this round.

1. Given a string, determine if it is possible to make it palindrome by removing at most one character.
2. Given a list of cordinates, find the top-k cordinates having the shortest manhattan distance from the origin(0,0).

Expectations were to verbally explain my thought process as clearly as possible, write a code ( you are not expected to execute it), and explain the code with a dry run.

Coding Round 1

Same as previous one.

1. You are given an array for example [3,22,33,88]. You have to output a string in containing the number which are not present in the array between [0,99]. If the length of the number of consecutive element is greater than 1. Then you have to compress it like "a-b". The answer to above example is "0-2,4-21,24-32,34-87,89-99".
2. You are given a list of 0s and 1s. where 1 represent a working day and 0 represents a holiday. You are allowed to convert atmost k working day to hoilday. You have to maximize the number of consecutive holidays.

Coding Round 2

Same as previous one.

1. Given a tree, you are supposed to print node in a specific order which is determined by two criteria:
   • left node should occur earlier than right one.
   • If the two node at the same level vertically. Then you have to prioratize the node with smaller depth.
2. Given a number, maximize it by swapping atmost two digits.

System Design

Design a instagram feed.

Behavioural Round

How you dealt with the situation of working with a problematic colleague. Follow up was also asked on how will you deal with it now.
How you dealt with the pushback from the team?
One exciting project that you are proud of.
How you dealt with not keeping up with the deliverables. How you tackled it

I was rejected. The reason that was given on misalignment on behavioural round although I may have some lower score in tech round as well.
