I had a google interview recently. It was done actually for an L5 (Senior Software Engineer) role. Here is the feedback roughly:
Screening: Strong Hire
Round 1: Good Hire for L4
Round 2: No Hire for L4
Round 3: Lean Hire for L4
Now the recruiter told that my interview didn't go well for the L5 role and gave me 2 options:
If I want L5, she can reduce cooling period to 2 months. After that I have to call her to schedule all DSA rounds again from beginning. This assessment decides my L5 role.
If I want L4, proceed with Googlyness now and 1 or 2 technical rounds as necessary.
I dont know what to choose, she gave me 2 days to decide on that. Can anyone help me take a good decision here.
(Also in the call, she mentioned if you join as L4 now, it would take 4 years to get into L5.)
