Status: 3rd year CSE student, MIT campus, Anna University
Position: SWE Intern at LinkedIn
Location: Banglore, India
Date: August, 2023
Resume Shortlisting:
I applied for the Software Engineering Intern role through our college placement cell, competing with over 300 applicants from Computer Science and Information Technology majors. The initial shortlisting criteria included a CGPA above 8.5/10, and fortunately, I met this requirement with a CGPA of 9.53/10.
Online Assessment:
Out of the shortlisted candidates, which numbered more than 200, I was selected for the online assessment. The test, hosted on the Hackerrank portal, comprised a 90-minute session with three Data Structure and Algorithm (DSA) questions - one easy and two of medium difficulty. I have detailed the questions I encountered here.
Technical Interview:
Although I successfully completed the first two problems in the online assessment, I faced challenges in passing all the test cases for the third question, securing 10 out of 14 test cases. Fortunately, I was among the 20 students shortlisted for the technical interview. Conducted over Zoom, the technical interview focused on algorithms and data structures.
HR Round:
After a successful technical interview, I advanced to the HR round. The interviewer expressed satisfaction with my responses and confirmed my progression to the behavioral/HR round. Nervously awaiting the HR round within the same call, I was asked to introduce myself and share my LinkedIn profile. Questions about my projects and achievements during both school and college followed. The interviewer also delved into the details of the terms mentioned in my resume, such as diligent working and team lead.
On the same day, I received an intern offer confirmation mail from LinkedIn, marking the culmination of an exciting and rewarding journey.
