My First Interview Experience at Microsoft🚀.

I am grateful for the opportunity to interview at Microsoft! 🌟 Had an inspiring experience discussing my passion for technology and problem-solving with a team of experts. The process was challenging yet rewarding, showcasing Microsoft's commitment to innovation and excellence.

On October 3rd, I received a promising email from Microsoft, announcing my selection for the online assessment round.

  • The assessment, spanning 110 minutes, featured two coding questions of medium to hard difficulty levels, each delving into different data structures.
  • With meticulous care, I tackled the second question, ensuring a comprehensive solution that successfully passed all test cases. Considering the unavailability of certain test cases during the assessment, I opted for optimal solutions, prioritizing efficiency in both time and space complexities. - Despite my best efforts, I encountered challenges with the first question. I was able to crack only 2 out of the total test cases.

Following this, I received another exhilarating email, announcing my selection for the interview phase. With just one week to prepare, and given that this was my maiden interview experience, I embarked on a journey of readiness and self-discovery.

  • Recognizing the significance of core subjects such as DBMS, Operating Systems, and Computer Networks, I delved into intensive study sessions to solidify my understanding📚 .
  • Aiming to leave no stone unturned, I diligently solved every question in Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), understanding the pivotal role it plays in interview assessments. Consistency was my guiding principle.
  • As a crucial part of my preparation, I revisited the fundamental concepts of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) to ensure a well-rounded grasp of key concepts.

This whirlwind week of preparation was a transformative experience, setting the stage for my inaugural interview. The excitement and determination were palpable, and I eagerly looked forward to the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead. 💼

October 31, 2023 - Interview Day 🏅
Feeling nervous but determined, I faced my first interview at 10:15 a.m. The interviewer's reassuring words helped calm my nerves, emphasizing it was just a conversation.
The interview began with a simple question about my feelings. Then, we delved into two DSA questions. I managed to explain parts of the first question but struggled with details. However, I successfully explained the second question.
My experience was wonderful and so much of learning. During the preparation, I followed Raj Vikramaditya's sheets for DSA and core sub which was very helpful. And solved the DSA question on GeeksforGeeks and LeetCode.
