Google SWE II Interview Experience (L3 role)
Experience - 5 months
Current Company - Microsoft
Recruiter reached out via email and asked if I am interested in a SWE II / L3 position.
Telephone Screening - Asked Priority Queue question. Solved it in the most optimized way with 20 mins. Passed to onsite rounds.
Round 1: Asked DP problem. Solved it in the most optimized way with 20 mins. Surely Strong Hire.
Round 2: Asked Geometry. Told the brute solution. I drew the Axis wrong at first place. I did manage to solve it but I am unsure of the solution being right. The interviewer told I will have to recheck once offline before commenting. I guess Lean Hire.
Round 3: Asked Backtracking problem. Solved the first version of the problem in most optimized way. In the follow up, my approach was a bit different from the interviewer's solution. The interviewer told this should work but I have to think once if any edge case is missed. I guess Hire.
Round 4: Googlyness Round. Basic Questions on how do you manege challenges, how do you mentor young people, qualities you want from your manager, how do you take decisions etc. The round went pretty well. I guess Strong Hire/Hire.
Team Match Call - An Engineering Leader came and asked about my past experiences and preferred role in the team.
Recruiter got back and told Interview feedback is good and hoping for a positive response.
