American Express Coding Assessment: Questions, Performance, and Next Steps

Yesterday, I participated in an American Express online Coding Assessment. The assessment consisted of three questions that needed to be completed within a 90-minute timeframe. The difficulty level of the questions ranged from easy to medium.

Below are the details of the three questions that were presented:

Question 1:
Question 1
Question 1 - Code

Question 2:
Question 2
Question 2 - Code

Question 3:
For this question, we were required to identify an error and modify at most two lines of code.
Question 3

The assessment experience was engaging, encompassing a variety of problem difficulties. I look forward to discussing the strategies and solutions with the community. Feel free to share your insights and thoughts!

The questions posed in the assessment were fundamentally easy, making them accessible for most participants to successfully tackle. Considering their approachability, I believe a substantial number of individuals would have managed to advance to the next round.

In terms of the criteria for progressing to the subsequent stages, it's anticipated that a combination of factors will be considered. This could encompass not only the accuracy and efficiency of solutions but also the quality of explanations provided, coding style, and adherence to best practices.

If you have prior experience with such assessments or if you've encountered a similar evaluation format before, I'd be glad to connect and share insights. Feel free to reach out to me on Telegram: @bhuppidhamii. I'm more than willing to provide guidance for the upcoming stages of the assessment.

Looking forward to connecting and assisting you further!
