Current Position: SSE at a Startup (Expansion phase)

Date: Last week of Aug 2022

Domain Knowledge round : Deep dive discussions on past experience, high-level design, Computer networks, Network security, Database related questions..
I did decent in this round and HR scheduled below 3 rounds.

Technical Knowledge round : Same as above round, but more deeper on how web works (Protocols in Application, Transport & Network layer), internal working of a database (How indexes work, different types of indexes), how to achieve security in a microservice, hashing vs encryption and again a bit deeper on system design (My work experience helped me here)
I answered almost all the questions in this round (just didn't answer 2/3 questions) and the interviewer was well satisfied

Coding round : Coding on how we save the comments for a social media platform. We can use any IDE with a DB connected to the application and we can also google so that we don't get stuck in between. Expectation is to test the APIs developed using Postman at the last.
I came up with the approach and defined data model but while coding I totally messed this round due to my inexperience in the coding language from the API side. I was not able to give a working solution at the end.

Problem Solving & Technical Case : HLD for a collaborative editor (eg. google doc) and it should support scaling
I did very well in this round and the interviewer was quite happy.

All the above rounds were of 1 hour duration.

Overall the interview experience was very good and I felt the interview process was easy (On one condition that we are well prepared for it) I didn't prepare well for coding round and screwed up the whole oppurtunity.
