Rounds

2: Behavioral Round 2(30 Min)
I got a call from a third-party consultant. She asked me some basic requirements like current company, Experience, Education, salary expectation, etc.
The job opportunity is for Data Analyst. But it was big 4 and the job location is in Mumbai. So I agreed to an interview.
Round 1
Before the interview, it is always recommended to go through previous Interview Experience. So I went through a lot of Interviews experiences.
It was a very long interview that felt like two interviews in one.
She started with "Tell me about yourself". After giving a lot of interviews, I was already prepared for this with a constructive answer.
She already come prepared with questions. After I finished she started bombarding questions in Python, Excel, SQL, Pandas, etc.
Python
She gave me 2 coding questions just to check my python basics.
Given array separate array into 2 groups using lambda functions.
It was based on regular expressions.
I was able to solve both questions. Also, I used a Jupyter notebook, which helped me a lot during a complete interview. If we press the tab in jupyter it gives suggestions which help me since most of the time I forgot functions from the regular expression package.
SQL
She asked me about joins. Then asked me basic questions about SQL.
1)She gave me 2 tables and asked for their join outputs.
2)Retrieve the person's name which contains the R letter in between their names.
Pandas
The interviewer gave some tasks to perform on the data frame.
She told me to prepare 2 datasets of my own. Convert into dataframes. Then perform merge operation.
She also told me to drop missing row values.
I am able to perform these operations. All credits go to jupyter notebook and practice.
It all was a very easy thing but without the internet and in Interviews it becomes very tough
Excel
She asked me if I am familiar with Excel. I told her that I know intermediate Excel.
She asked me about the difference between Vlookup and Hlookup. I explained to her in my own words.
Then she gave me some student names and marks. I need to use vlookup to retrieve values.
I am not able to do this question. I told her that I know how to use vlookup but just forgot the syntax. Could I use the Internet to see the syntax? She agreed and I see the basic syntax of vlookup and in a fraction of a second, I solved it. She was very happy to see this. Also told me that we were looking like you people who can learn.
After this, she asked me about Pivot and told me to create the pivot of the student table.
I navigate to tabs and performed the pivot. She told me to find the count on the pivot. I had not used Excel frequently in past. Since I am working in the Deep learning domain. So I just navigate here and there and was able to do that count operation.
She was very happy and gave me compliments. Since she can observe and look at my resume she understands that I am not using Excel daily basis. Perhaps I am able to perform those questions, she asked.
She told me If I have any questions. I asked questions about Work culture and projects, they are working on. Then she asked me about my salary expectations. Since she really want me to join but when she heard my salary expectation she told me that I don’t think you will get this amount. Then she told me you are surely going for the next round. She also gives me some tips.
Round 2
After 2-3 Days 2nd round got scheduled. This round was most of a behavioral round. The interviewer told me that I am not going to ask any technical questions. Then he asked me questions as below.
Q1: What was your opinion on live-in relationships?
Q2: Do have any conflicts in the company? If yes, then how do you resolve this?
Q3: What is your opinion on current Maharashtra Politics?
I answered all the questions as per my understanding. I tried to be me and answered these questions.
In the end, Interviewer asked me about my salary expectation since he told me I was selected. Then he told me I am worried we can’t afford you. He added, you are very competent and I like you very much, but salary could be a barrier for us. The interviewer said that I am not an HR so I will share the feedback and let's see what decision they will take.
Round 3
After the 2nd round, in 2-3 hours later, I got a call from HR. She laughed and told me that I was selected but Expected salary is to high. I tried negotiating but they can’t give me that much. Also, my role was as Data Analyst where I will be working with Power BI and Excel. This is totally different than what I have done in Tata Power, So I just say NO.
