Initial Screening -

Received in mail invite.

I responded. The HR called me and shared details about the interview process.
Recieved OA link the same day and gave the test the same day.

Got a call from the recuiter the next day that I have cleared the OA. He gave me 2 weeks for prep before the Onsites occur.

Onsites -

Round 1 - DSA

2 Medium Coding Questions based on Binary Trees and Graphs.
LPs
HLD of recent project. (Just overview and few counter questions)

I was able to give optimal solutions to both questions and had a great convo with the interviewer who was very supportive and friendly.
Possible Feedback : Strong Hire

Round 2 - DSA + HLD

1 Medium Coding Question based on Binary Trees again.
LPs (Grilled me on this too).
HLD of recent project. (Grilled me and lot of counter questions)

I was able to give optimal solution to the question and was able to give convincing answers to all the questions related to scalability of my HLD design. Interviewer was very supportive and a gentleman.

Round 3 - HLD

Design a Music Streaming system.
Detailed Design of a Realtime song recommendation system based on location.
Lot of LPs

I designed the system using microservices, however wasn't able to answer the second part. He was looking for an answer related to Distributed Caching. However, had a great discussion with him and was able to put my thoughts in an organised manner.

Possible Feedback : Hire / Lean Hire

Round 4 - Bar Raiser (HM + LLD)

Design a trading system like Zerodha
Lot of LPs

I use Zerodha frequently, so I was able to come up with the HLD, API specs of the system and was able to answer all the questions which he asked me. However, I did not perform well in the LLD part. However, I was able to communicate my thought process very well and had an amazing discussion around the clarifications of the system and answered the LPs too.

Possible Feedback : Lean Hire/ No Hire.

Difficulty level: Medium to Hard

The interviewers were absolutely awesome, experienced and very friendly. Luckily, I was able to connect with each one of them on some line or the other and I was always genuine about accepting my strengths and weaknesses.

Tbh, I wasn't expecting the offer. When the HR called and told me I was selected, I was shocked because I totally believed that I screwed up the LLD round and will be downleveled to SDE - 1. He said that my design part didn't go well but I rocked the DSA and LPs section of all the rounds.
