Interview Process:
Round1: DS/Algo, Kotlin, Basics of android, Past projects, Array based questions along with stacks, queues and linked lists (1 hour)
- This round was focused around the Android tech stack
- Questions were related to the Activities, Fragments, ViewModel and few other Android components
- A specific question related to how data sharing would work between 2 different fragments presenting same data on UI
- There were questions for Kotlin language specific usages, how extension function works, what is inline, reified in Kotlin...
Did well, had some different view than the interviewer on solving the data sharing problem.
Round 2: Designing latest Android tools, covering Android Frameworks and Architecture Patterns (1 hour)
- Discussions around work in current project
- In depth discussion on how Kotlin Coroutines are to be used in Activity & Viewmodel, along with the different Dispatchers
- Few questions revolved around which Android component to be used in given scenarios (focus being on Services)
Discussions went good, wasn't able to pinpoint the answer was a Foreground Service for a particular questionm where some constant work was required during App was open.
Round 3: Cultural Fit, Problem solving, Org tech understanding (1 hour)
- Questions in this round were a mix of behvaioral and tech
- Discussions on current work, how team works, what role I play, my contributions
- Was given a problem to do HLD on how to create a library for AR
- How would mapping digital components work on the input video?
- How to ensure no lag occurs in the output feed?
- What do you feel is more important to you, to work in a team?
- Share one of the challenging tasks you did, till now.
