I applied to Facebook London thru the careers portal in the month of September. In October, the recruiter got in touch to understand my work experience and position. They decided to interview me for E4/E5 role. The role is decided upon the interview performance in the System Design and Behavioral rounds. The interview happened in November. I did not take much gap as I was preparing for my Google and Uber interviews. I decided to schedule them around the same time.

Uber Interview Experience - https://leetcode.com/discuss/interview-experience/1639865/Uber-or-L4-or-Bangalore-or-India-or-Virtual-Onsite-or-November-2021-Offer
All rounds are for 45 mins. Facebook gives emphasis on code quality, sanity, variable names, modularity, communication.
Preliminary Round - Online Telephonic round
Q1 - Variation of Balancing Paranthesis and follow up questions like balance strings with different type of brackets
Q2 - Variation of Merge Intervals
Managed to solve both of them. Got thru to the onsite interviews.
Virtual Onsite 1 - Coding Round
Q1 - Print Matrix diagonally
Q2 - Convert Binary Tree to DLL.
Standard LC questions. Solved both of these questions. Got a good feedback in this round. Strong hire.
Virtual Onsite 2 - Coding Round
Q1 - Similar to this question - https://leetcode.com/problems/frog-jump/
Q2 - Merge 2 interval lists
Solved both of these questions. Got a good feedback in this round. Strong hire.
Virtual Onsite 3 - System Design Round
Asked to design online game for facebook connections. Interviewers at Facebook expect you to drive the entire conversation, do not wait for them to ask questions. They expect you to own the design and proactively debate upon your choices, compromises and design decisions.
Feedback from this round was lean hire for L4, as I did not proactively defend my design choices and talk about compromises.
Virtual Onsite 4 - Hiring Manager Round / Behavioral Round
Questions about my work and past experience, around leadership principles. Why I did, what I did. What would I do under these situations. Standard HM Behavioral round.
The recruiter came back after nearly 2 weeks, stating the Hiring Committee isn't able to get conclusive signal from the Behavioral round. However my technical interviews went well and were inclined towards an E4 role. Recruiter asked me to take the behavioral round again. I did.
Virtual Onsite 5 - Hiring Manager Round / Behavioral Round
Similar to previous round.
Feedback was similar to my last behavioral interview, not enough signal. The recruiter finally said they won't be proceeding with my application.
Experience - The interview process was standard, structured and properly orchestrated. The coding interviews were on the easier side. You need to own the system design interviews end to end. The technical interviews went fine, But I still got rejected on the basis of behavioral interviews. Everything matters.
