4 Round Interviews for AWS (Every round 30 Mins LPs)
- Find File in Linux ( OOD )
- Design Instagram ( SD )
- Find First Fibanacci number with 1000 Factors ( eg: 8 is first fib with 4 factors )
- Merge two directory that have special chars . .. and return the path
(ex: dir1 /pp/qq/,,/rr/. dir2 /../ss/tt/./uu/name.txt output : /pp/rr + /../ss/tt/uu/name.txt => /pp/ss/tt/uu/name.txt and if this name.txt file exist in that particualar dir path return true )
In my wildest dream also I will not do this " Find First Fibanacci number with 1000 Factors ". I bet even Linus Torvalds and James Gosling will not do it .
Not even DS & Algo I was asked.
They emailed me after few hours a good time to call and they called me and told it's a reject & 1 year cool off.
I poured sweat, blood & tears into Amazon coding prep & LP prep.
because Amazon intevriew is something quite different from orhers. They focus half the interview time on LP.
That said, I will not again apply to Amazon in my life
Now looking back its waste of my time, I would have focused on something useful to me in life
on a scale of 1-5 I can rate myself
1st round - 5 (interviewer told me where I was going stopped coding and again asked me LP questions )
2nd round -- 3-4 (I told in the end about scaling as I focused more on data model & caching & requiremnts )
3rd round -- negative infinite
4th round -- 4-5 ( i asked interviewe is this what you are looking for , he told me this what I'm exactly looking for )

I wrote two helpers
- calc fibnacci numbers
- give the count of factors for given numer
tired to combine both and do brute force . later tired to opmitize by doubling the range of fib numbers .
and he told be the result was 498454011879264 and huge time complexity

I would have done something else ,
Must have asked interviewer
- What skill you want to test with this question.
- Did you applied this kind of problems in you day to day work or anytime you encoutreed this in your career.
- sorry I don't want to proceed further with interview process , not intrested to work with these kind of problems in my day to day .
- and would have terminate call
- write an email to HR to cancel next rounds as I'm not intrested to do this kind of work.
I wish I had that courage to hang up the interviewer call.
LIfe is not going to end with Amazon, I can go back to my town and start farming .

If not and if you have previlage to write an email to hiring team, please ask them to have some questions that seriously tests skills which can be applied at amazon engineering to build great products.
