As of today my journey with Google Interview Process has come to an end.

Screening round: Don't remember the details exactly(happened around 5 months ago). The question was given an array we have to find the maximum sum subarray with some condition.
Solved it with hashmap. The interviewer gave me hint for improving time complexity and I was able to catch the hint. Solved it
Feedback: Positive(HR gave me around 4-5 weeks to prepare for onsite)

Onsite Interview 1: Resolving an expression kind of question. Similar to https://leetcode.com/problems/evaluate-reverse-polish-notation/. Came up with the approach fast enough but took a bit longer for writing the code and handling all cases.
Feedback: Lean Hire(I think so)

Onsite Interview 2: Building a custom hashmap kind question. It was similar to this problem https://leetcode.com/problems/linked-list-random-node/
I was able to solve the question and the interviewer looked satisified with my answer.
Feedback: Hire/Lean Hire

Onsite Interview 3: Variation of https://leetcode.com/problems/my-calendar-i/description/.
I was able to solve this within time.
Feedback: Hire(I think so)

Googlyness went well. Feedback: Hire/Strong Hire

After a few weeks HR emailed me that I cleared the onsite interviews. Then after a few more weeks I recieved a call for Team Matching

Team Matching 1: I got rejected (Manager chose other candidate)

Then HR asked me give one more interview since my interview feedbacks were not strong enough and the Hiring Manager has suggested me to give one more coding round. I have asked for 2 weeks for preparation and gave the additional coding round

Additional Coding: Went well. It was a graph traversal question. Was able to solve and code it up. Was able to come up with the solution for followup as well.
Feedback: Hire/Strong Hire

Hr called me after a week and told that interview feedback was positive and scheduled a team matching round.

Team Matching 2: Went well. Manager was okay with me.

Then HR asked me a few details and told me to wait for a week to get approvals. I recieved a call today from HR and they told me that I got rejected in some review process(which I believe is Hiring Committee review).

After all these months, I feel the feedback could have been provided more promptly and effectively. If my feedbacks were not good enough for the HC review, it would have been better if they had rejected me right after my onsite interviews.

Regardless, this has been a valuable learning experience for me, and I’d like to remind everyone that anything can happen at any time. Keep coding, and may you achieve your dreams.
