The entry
A recruiter contacted me via e-mail about 6 months ago. I told the recruiter that at the moment I wasnt searching for jobs but If she could reach back in Jan 2020, I would appreciate it. She did reach back on Jan 2020 and by February 2020 I confirmed that I was interested to be part of the hiring process and we set up a date for the phone interview

Phone interview (1 hour)
I think the interview was fairly easy even though I didn't do any proper studying. More info on my interview questions can be found here https://leetcode.com/discuss/interview-question/527081/amazon-phone-identical-and-mirror-trees/464420
The recruiter contacted me in about 2 days and we set up an onsite for 4 weeks later

Preparation
I honestly only solved about 15 leetcode problems. I have the premium subscription so I focused on those premium problems and then remembering how to solve previous problems.
More context on that: last year i did some grinding in leetcode and solve about 200+ problems. Luckily, i still remembered how to solve most of them.
I also bought the course of *** the Systems interview and I read about 4 problems in there: how to design tinyurl, pastebin, instagram and youtube/netflix. I think it is really important that you understand the trade offs of some designs, partitioning, sharding.

On-site (4 hours)

This was remote due to the covid-19. I signed NDA but it mentions everything about internal information about Amazon, the questions were not related to Amazon at all but the design question, so here it goes.

First interview (1 hour) was design problem. First, 30 min LP. Then the problem. I was asked to talk a lot about how could I design a checkout system. Reading a lot on *** the system design interview really helped. I aced this one

Second interview (1 hour) was minimum steps for a Knight in a chess board to get from position A to B. First 30 min LP then the problem. I came up with a DFS solution, with some hints from the interviewer. Then he asked me one follow up question about how can I make it a bit more efficient and we discussed it. I felt that this interview really drained me.

Third interview (1 hour) was also a coding problem. First 30 min LP then I was asked to implement a cache with method put and get. I asked with which eviction policy and the interviewer told me that it should be with LRU. I almost finished but I felt like I aced this one. I asked TONS of clarifying questions.

Fourth interview (1 hour) was also a coding problem. First 30 min LP then I was asked to implement a Tic Tac Toe with a method move.
I also asked tons of clarifying questions and I almost finished it but the interviewer seemed satisfied with my approach.

I haven't heard from the recruiter yet but I will update this post with the results.

Update:
Recruiter called me to let me know that I was really close to make it but the team had really few concerns on my technical side, they wanted to know If I was open to downlevel and I said no, so the recruiter might contact me again a couple of months
