I interviewed for an E5 position and got the call from recruiter today that they will not be moving forward for E5 for me, but they will pass me as E4. She said they are currently on a freeze for E4 for the past 3 months. My interview status is good for a year. Is it likely I will get an offer? She said rumors are hiring managers are starting to open up for E4 again and there is a high demand for it again, but no promises on when that will be. Thoughts anyone? Feel kind of defeated for not getting the E5, but would still take E4 honestly. Is it likely I will get into team matching sometime soon?

Preperation:
Grinded LC for 1-2 months. Did the top 75 Meta questions by 3 month Freq. Every question was on there. I highly recommend you read all discussions and really understand the problem rather than memorizing the answer. My coding round questions had a twist on them where it was similar to the question but definitely you have to understand how to change the constraints.
