Hello Guys,
I would like to share my interview experience for Amazon CSA interview process which I appeared recently. There were total of two rounds :

  1. Online Assessment
  2. 4 rounds of virtual interview ( 2 Technical+Behavioural and 2 purely behavioural )

12th Feb: Online Assessment ( Networking Basics + Work Simulation )
In order to prepare for networking related question mainly focus on OSI Model, Basic Linux commands for file handling and Network administration tools. Basic communication protocol such as TCP/IP, UDP. Concepts such as DNS records, default gateway etc. IP routing as well as iptable concepts. No need to go in-depth of CCNA concepts, just overview is fine, For work simulation, you have to answer by keeping all the 14 Amazon leadership principles in mind.

27th Feb: Virtual interview round, My interview domains were: 1) Networking 2) Linux
Amazon interview process especially CSA role as it is based on the customer service domain, the interview is all about the behavioural part. I could say it is (60% Behavioural and 40% technical). So do prepare for behavioural more than technical rounds. I am sharing some of the notes that I prepared as well as gathered while studying for CSA.

1st round (Networking+ Behavioural ) :

  1. Behavioural questions based on customer obsession ( How would handle angry customer ).
  2. SSH troubleshooting scenario-based question.
  3. How DNS works in detail
  4. Server connectivity issue troubleshooting question.
The interviewer is pretty nice, he was directing me towards answers in case I am stuck on something. He would constantly encourage you to perform well.

2nd Round (Purely Behavioural ):

  1. Tell me about the situation when you failed to meet deadlines for a project.
  2. Tell me about your greatest working achievement.
  3. Tell me about the time when you mentored someone while working.
The interviewer was senior-level manager, he was very specific while asking a question. you can expect more questions based on your answer or scenarios explained so be honest while answering so that cross-question won't affect your performance.

15 minutes break.

3rd Round ( Linux + Behavioural ):

  1. SSH troubleshooting on machine level using Linux tools.
  2. Swap partition
  3. How Linux boots up
  4. How would you troubleshoot slow Linux system.
  5. Changing Linux Process Priority
  6. Analyzing Linux Server Performance

Even if you don't know the commands in details, make sure you have the basics clear about Linux concepts. He even asked me some behavioural question from the standard amazon behavioural question pool.

4th Round ( Purely behavioural with hiring manager ):

  1. Tell me about the situation when you took the wrong decision, how did you overcome it.
  2. Tell me about one of your best projects.
  3. Internship work-related questions mostly your approach towards work.
  4. Some more standard behavioural question from the question pool.

In short amazon interview process is pretty smooth and comfortable. Even if it interview process is 4 hours long, the interviewer makes sure that you don't feel tired. It is more like a normal conversation than an actual technical interview. I would highly recommend preparing behavioural more in detail, prepare scenarios well in advance and should be your own (this would help you answer cross-questions regarding your answer you give).

So Prepare well and Go with full confidence !!!
