Siemens EDA visited our campus for hiring final year students as 6 month interns for embedded and software roles, in September 2023

Role : Software intern/Embedded Intern
Stipend : 40k
Location : Bengaluru / Noida for Software and Noida for Embedded
CGPA criteria : 7
No. of Rounds - 2 (Online Assessment and 1 round of online Interview)
Platforms - HackerEarth for Online Assessment and MS Teams for Interview
Difficulty : Easy/ Medium (varied slightly for different people)
M. Tech/B. Tech both eligible.

Online Assessment

Duration : 1 hour
Questions : 25 MCQs and 2 Coding questions
MCQ topics - General Aptitude, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning , Verbal Reasoning, C/C++/Java Output questions, 11th/12th level questions based on easy electrical circuits for calculating current, voltage, potential difference, etc.
Coding questions: First one was medium, second one was hard , don't remember the questions exactly.
The Round was video and audio proctored and was held from college auditorium( as per company's demand).

People who solved at least 1 coding question and 20+ MCQs were shortlisted for interviews.
Around 9 from software and 3 from Embedded profile were shortlisted.

Interview Round

Duration : 1 hour
There was only one interviewer. After a formal introduction ,he started by asking very very simple C++ STL questions and then went a little deep into their implementation, then went on to ask two coding question.

He also asked about the inner implementation of Hash map in C++ STL, and also about collisions, time complexity, etc.
Pseudo Codes were also accepted, no constraints or test cases were needed to be passes.

Verdict

Only 2 selects from Software domain and none from embedded.
