I want to share my experience taking a phone interview for Google.
I had two. First of all Google recruiter called to me and after a short introduction, we scheduled the first one coding phone interview.
In one week I got a call from an interviewer. It was a pleasant man, he gave me a code problem by easy level and I resolved it not brilliant but workable. I was nervous but satisfied.
Next day recruiter said to me that Google needs one more phone coding session with me. Ok, we scheduled.
A week passed and I got a call. At this time it was a woman. A short introduction and I got new code problem. At this time it was a medium level. I wanted to make my solution more efficient and discoursed different approaches. At this time interviewer was arrogant and based on her tone I already understood that I failed.
I resolved the problem and explained why I used this approach except another. When she said if I have some question to her I said no because she was saying so arrogantly that I realized that this is the end.
It was true. Next day I got a call from the recruiter and she said: "you were close but..."
I dreamt for a long time to be part of Google but now I realized that I do not want to work with such haughty people. However, to be honest, the first interviewer was pleasant. So 50/50
