Status: 2 YOE, Tier 1 College\nPosition: SDE1 at a Startup\nLocation: India\nDate: 1st March, 2022\n\n\n**Previous Experience:**\n- Rejected by Google in Technical Phone Screen Round for the last two years.\n- Codeforces: Expert. Have solved around 400 problems there.\n- Leetcode: E-51 M-93 H-36 \n- I don\'t get enough time to practice because my current job takes around 10 hours everyday.\n\n\n**Note:** All the rounds were of 45 minutes.\n\n\n**Technical Phone Screen:** Algorithm question(Level - Medium). Standard DP. Interviewer asked some of the corner cases. I was able to write the DP but unable to give reason for corner cases. Interviewer was okay. \n\nFeedback was positive, so the interviewer scheduled 3 Virtual Onsite rounds and told they will schedule 2 more rounds if the feedback will be positive.\n\n\n**Onsite Round 1:** Logical Problem Solving (Level - Hard). I wrote the brute force approach and the interviewer said to optimize it. I could not do it in the time frame, tried a few approach, but those came out to be worse than brute force in terms of ensuring it will always give the correct answer. I told that this approach is not good. \n\nInterviewer was nice. Two minutes after the interview, I thought of the efficient approach. Interview pressure fucked up this round.\n\n\n**Onsite Round 2:** Algorithmic Problem (Level - Hard). It was an open ended problem and I have to think of solutions to solve it. I explained my approach to the interviewer, but he did not seem convinced to my solution. So I thought of 2-3 more approaches, but then he did not seem convinced either. Then towards the end of the interview, he said my first approach was correct and he was expecting me to go forward on that one. \n\nInterviewer seemed busy in something else and wasn\'t replying on time to my appraoches.\n\n\n**Onsite Round 3:** Algorithmic Problem (Level - Hard). I told the effecient approach in one go and explained all the edge cases and wrote the code. Interviewer was convinced and we finished before time. \n\nInterviewer was nice.\n\n\n**Result:** Reject and not getting considered for the further rounds.\n\n\n**Feedback:** Need to come up with solutions faster.\n\n\n**Learnings:**\n- Try to take less pressure in the interview. \n- Need to practice more to be able to come up with solutions faster. \n\n\nI hope these learnings help someone else get into your dream company. I gave some dummy interviews to reduce the pressure but it still happened. Now, the coolback period is 1 year and I will try again next year.
