Hi, thank you for reading my story.

I have been here frequently recently to prepare my Meta onsite interview. However, it seems that it is canceled by the recruiter. I don't know why and would like to hear form you guys opinions on it.

I am now in Tokyo and a copmputer vision/machine learning engineer. In early April, a recruiter from Meta contacted me on computer vision engineer oppertunity in their Zurich office. I am quite excited because it is the dream job from my dream company. I passed the first interview two weeks later, and another recruiter contacted me for the next onsite interview.

He told me that he would send me some materials for perparation right after the phone call. However, he didn't. I don't know why but am still preparing the onsite interviews by doing leetcode, reading books on system design, machine learning system design etc. After one week (May 4th), I emailed him again and he sent me the materials afterwards.

Then, on the next day (May 5th), I told him that the content is so rich that it really takes me some time to take care of the details. I asked him to take a phone call to talk about the schedules. Then he replied me as following, which is totally unexpected:

Hello, Thank you so much for taking the time to engage with us and prepare for our call. We truly value your time and experience as a candidate.
With that being said, we have filled all existing positions that match your experience and qualifications and therefore will not be moving forward with our call as planned.
Thank you for your interest in Meta and I would appreciate the opportunity to keep in touch.

I am so sad and just feel my dream is broken again and can anyboday tell me where is wrong? I can't believe things could change so quick in one day. Has anyboday been in similar situation with me? Thank you!

Thank you for your replies. I now learnt that a hiring freeze happened in Meta.
