First round was on codesignal. Two questions, I can only remember one, This question was on Binary Search. Both the code signal questions were already posted on LC discussion forums. Solved both and was moved to onsite.
Round 1 : DS & Algo. Given a list of currency conversion rates and given a query where we are given two currencies, we have to tell what the currency conversion rate would be. Gave the standard graph traversal approach using BFS from source to destination using Queue. Its guaranteed that for all source, destination pairs multiple paths would have same cost, so Djikstra wouldn't help.
Round 2: DS & Algo. Initially, I though this would be System Design but turned out to be DS & Algo. The question was given a matrix of integers, we need to build a Quadtree out of it. Was able to code it. There is already a question for this on LC, just look up Quadtree and Uber tag.
Both the interviewers were nice and friendly and the interview was conducted over Zoom. Mostly smooth experience, for the 2nd round, had to compile code on my local machine as the coding environment was throwing mysterious compile errors.
This was for an SDE-2 position at Uber Hyderabad/Bangalore. Haven't heard back from recruiters, its been 3 days since the 2nd round of interview.
How much time does it take to move to further rounds of interviews. I sense that I probably won't go further.
Currently, not working but was an SDE-2 at FAANG 4-5 months ago.
