YOE: 4.5
Current Position: Senior Cloud Infra Engineer [SRE]
Finished my Virtual Onsite with Amazon like a week ago.
Had 4 rounds:
Round1 - System Design: I was asked to desing a plagiarism system for an university. Followup was to expand the service to millions of students/staff across all universties in US.
2 Leadership Principles.
Round2 - Coding: Question was similar to meeting rooms but question was around min number of VMs required to run a task with a list of [start, end] for each task.
2 Leadership Principles.
Round 3 - [Bar riser]
3 Leadership Principles.
Logical and Maintainable: Was asked to design a simple add function. Catch is the input is very large [bigger than int/long int], i was asked to pick a suitable datastructure to solve the problem.
Round4 - DataStructures and Algorithms: Graph and a value are inputs. Asked to parse graph and find the node that has a value matching the input.
2 Leadership principals.
3 days later I got a reject. I have learnt a lot from this and now I regret thinking I could have done better in round 4 for a better chance. Interviewer was testing my core cs fundamentals.
