I got through the online test, recruiter called me and told me some one from her team will reach me for the next interview process.
A recruiter called me and scheduled all the next 3 rounds Coding, System design, LLD rounds on a single day with each 30mins difference.
Coding Round: https://leetcode.com/problems/kth-ancestor-of-a-tree-node/
this was cool, I asked a lot of questions and we ran through base cases and I successfully executed all the test cases. then we talked about optimizing the solution. I think it really went well.
System Design: Design amazon locker system. Basically while placing an order, user has privileges to choose either home delivery or user chooses a nearby building in his pincode where his package should be placed. So, the user can go whenever he feel to to pick his package from the locker. One package goes to a single locker, so if user orders 10 items, there are 10 lockers, and so on..
HLD, APIs and transactions per sec in millions, as the use-case is for entire world and assume there is at most a building available in all pincodes across world.
I really did well, the senior manager was impressed with my work. I sketched everything on a white paper, took pictures and sent him through while he was checking on them, I was working/sketching somethign else APIs etc...
LLD round: There was a SDE who interviewed me was too rude. He even threatened me of giving a bad feedback so I cannot get into amazon if I already had passed first 2 rounds. His voice is high and asked me shut my mouth twice. Common... who gets to hear that!!! lol, he gave me Train Station as use-case.. I designed the entire UML and then coded and executed it. He finally asked do you have any questions, I answered him nope at the moment. His immediate response is, MAN! you should ask questions...
Overall online, next 2 rounds are good, the last round was Ok Ok.. as per the interviewer who happens to be an SDE.
I got an offer from D.E. Shaw, I am happy. But the experience with Amazon SDE person is pathetic. I thought to complain HR to listen to the video recordings, but I Ignored it then.
