I recently interviewed with Swiggy(Bangalore), and wanted to share my experience. Hope this helps

• Years of Exp: 9
• Applied from swiggy careers

Round 1

• This was a 2 hours LLD design round. Interviewer sent a PDF file having a question and asked to go through the problem and ask if I have any questions
• The question was to design battleship game: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battleship_(game)

Round 2

• You are given 10 PDF files in a directory, find all words which is present in all files - Only logic required, no code
• You have a website and you are planning to roll out a new feature but not confident so want to enable for only 5% of the users then 10% … - how will you build this type of system. Some error margin is allowed in this

Round 3

• Design covid vaccination system - HLD and API design
• At the time of interview itself, I felt it was not going well because the interviewer didn't seem to be very convinced with my design proposal. As expected, got rejected after this round

Notes

• Had a positive interview experience - All interviewers were friendly, will keep you comfortable, listen to your thoughts, ...
• All rounds were done via Google meet screen share and none of round DS/algo was asked - nor in further rounds, if I would have cleared R3
• I felt SDE 4 is kind of an architect role and they expect candidates to be very good at system design. As you can see from above rounds, all were mainly focussed on LLD/HLD
• In my preparation, I invested most of my time in DS/algo and less on system design because I am seeking for senior engineer role rather than architect or staff engineer
