I failed to convert my Internship to full-time at amazon. I worked for 12+ hours every day during my Internship. I did not do Leetcode for three months, and I had to start over again from scratch.

August 2020 to May 2nd, 2021
I applied for 500+ companies. I just got 5 interviews during this time.

  1. Bloomberg --> Did not do well in one of the rounds with principle engineer -->
  2. Lucid Chart --> I sucked at OOD (I am a frontend guy, and I had no idea what SOLID principle was). Opportunity to learn OOD
  3. Amazon SDE-2 --> red flag for not converting Internship? I got an opportunity to learn system design concepts

May 3rd, 2021 to June 15th, 2021

Multiple offers.

Offers: HBOMax, Goldman, Wyze Labs.
Decision Pending: Axon, Keap, Wish

How I got the interviews?

  1. Reached out to recruiters directly.
  2. Good Resume, putting right words is essential.

Interview experience with HBOMax, Snap Inc, Axon, Keap, Goldman, and Wyze labs was similar.

Total 5 Rounds.

3 Rounds were algorithms and Datastructers, and 1 round was System Design or OOD and one 30 mins Behavioral round.
Wyze labs had one extra round with a presentation of my best work so far.

Most difficult interview : Snap Inc (3 Leetcode Hard questions).
Easiest Interview: Goldman (LC Easy/ LC medium).

Thanks to Leetcode community. Last 2 years were great, from having a hard time understanding Two Sum's solution to solving unseen problems. I loved every minute of this journey.

I want to thank Arjun(My roommate), Vamsi Bada, Mohit Kalra, Varuni for supporting, sharing, and helping me improve through this journey.

One piece of advice : Help your roommates, friends. Friends first and Competitors next (Not the other way round). From my experience, if you help each other, you all end up with a job early, of course, you will still end up with a job, even if you don't help each other, but you won't enjoy the journey, and you won't have anything to cherish.

I have listed down all the resources I have used here.

I am sorry if you find any spelling or Grammatical errors.
