First and foremost this post is just my view and in no way this is meant to demean or hurt the credibility of any individual.
I've noticed this in this community that a lot of facebook offers are based in US. I recently had a facebook interview and is located outside of US. I may be wrong but it seems its more difficult to get into facebook for a non US individual than if ur based in US.
I was referred by a friend in US and the first thing the recruiter checked was my eligibility. She clearly mentioned that the open positions are more in US however the dearth of candidates make their job more tough to find a suitable one. She referred me to London office and told that here the competition is from across the world. One of my friend who is in US shared a bit of interview experience in FB and it seemed to me it should be fine with my preparataion, specially the onsite interviews from the questions asked to him.
So I was quite confident and in all the 3 rounds I gave all the answers. Coded out the solutions.
However I was quite surprised when I got a reject. This was for E5 position.

So when I received the feedback:
I was given an excellent in product sense, however the recruiter said I need to be given hints for the answer(which facebook actually encourages that you should be able to pick from hints) and the way I gave the solution didn't hit the chord with the interviewer. So its not only sufficient that you do a runnable code but you also need to make code in a particular way. I completely agree with this honestly.
However the striking thing is I gave the same answer to one question like my friend based in US as I got it common. My feedback was negative. Could be due a different interviewer in his case. However I've actually seen a lot of my friends who can't crack Uber/Apple while in India when they're in US they're in facebook.

I'm again stressing that I'm not undermining anyone but could this be true that it's easier to get into FAANG if you're in US than ur outside US, What do you think?
Could be the bar be much higher if you're outside US?
