This is regarding a position for Front End at Facebook. Level was for 4 (E4, IC4?)
The phone screen questions all came from glassdoor. Think of your common Javascript based questions regarding closure. If you go through glassdoor and compile a list of the front end questions they ask, they ask that. Predictable. They asked me 4 questions that I practiced. I was surprised that was exactly what they asked because some of the glassdoor things came from two years ago. Funny thing. During the feedback they told me I was slow. I guess if I'm slow when I practice the exact question you ask me 45min before the interview, then the on-site would be a problem! It was.
The on-site was coding rounds, behavioral, and system design. A few notes.
I had heard of all of the coding questions they asked. Nothing was a huge surprise. They force a NDA, but if you can do the problems on https://bigfrontend.dev/ then you'll be fine. Think less of a function and more of a class, if you know what I meant. I didn't practice enough, but between that site and glassdoor, it has all the questions they asked for coding rounds.
For behavioral, I also didn't practice enough, but they do this thing where it was like, "tell me about a time when... insert something". Then, they'll be like, "ok tell me another one" if they don't like what you said. When it is your turn to ask questions, if you choose your question really well, you will be able to get the interviewer to basically tell you how he/she feels about you. When he basically didn't answer my first question and gave a 1 sentence response, I was like, "oh aight". Lol. All laughts during your intro, but I read you now. Bruh.
For system design, it's not like the system design for backend. They give you a picture of a front end thing and ask you how you go about designing that. It's hard to know what they want exactly but I think if you've built enough components on the front end with state management, you shold be fine. I haven't, and they let me know as such.
Overall I think if you prep enough, you can get level 4 at FB for Front End. Google is a different story, I didn't even get pass their phone screen.
Good luck to everyone who get it. Don't get pipped. lol
