I got this different Design Question on my final HM Round in Microsoft

I am not sure what the interview Expection was , was able to write the code and dry run it , but I was not able to clear the round. Need input from the Community on this particualr problem ?

Design An Api to copy data from one location to another Given the  source pointer , destination and No. of bytes to be copied.
