For the onsite interview, the recruiter has given me the option to skip the system design interview (as I don't have SWE experience and have done research in the past) and replace it with either
(1) ML research design
(2) or one of Image, NLP, RL, ranking, etc (depending on my area of expertise) design interview.

The recruiter didn't give me a clear picture of either of them. To me the first option is very similar to typical ML design (maybe??) and the second one, I have no idea!

Has anyone been in the same situation before? Any insight on either of these two interviews is appreciated.
