My interview experience with Amazon SDE Summer 2021(US).
I have got a referral and applied to this position on Aug 11.
OA1(10/08): I received my OA1, which consists of 7 debugging questions. I got 7/7 questions correct. I finished this assessment on 10/11
OA2(10/11): Just after few hours I finished my OA1, I received my OA2. This is a coding round, which consists of 2 coding questions and is completed in 70 mins. In my case, items were different from the recently asked Amazon OA questions which were discussed on LC. One problem was on trees, and the other one was on a 2D array. I got all test cases passed for both the questions. After you submit the test, there is a work style assessment part, which has a set of questions related to the work style and chose which option best suits you.
OA3(10/15): I finished OA2 on 10/15 and received part 3 on the same day. This is a video simulation round. Given many scenarios, videos, emails, chats when you are working in the team, how do you react, and how do you prioritize your tasks. I believe this is a critical part in 3 OA's, which is the deciding factor for the final interview. I finished OA3 on 10/19 and received my invitation to interview the very next day. There is a survey which we need to fill with our availability. I gave my availability for the first week of November.
Final Interview: This was ten days after my OA3. It was for 45 mins but went up to 1 hour. First 30 mins were about LC medium amazon tagged question. I talked through my approach then started coding. Interviewer gave me some hints and asked some followup questions after I write some line of code. We then discussed complexities. Next 15 mins were about LP and followup questions. Last 15 mins, we discussed teams at Amazons. They look up to you to ask them questions.
After five days of my interview offer letter was released by Amazon. I have been applying for internships and giving OA's but never heard back from any company. This is my first interview, and I'm delighted that I was able to crack it. So, never give up and always give your best shot as if this is the last chance.
Thank you leetcode community for the fantastic stuff here :)
