Position: Software Engineering Internship
Just had my phone interview for a software internship position at Bloomberg. The interviewer was really nice. He started with introducing himself. He then asked me about my experience and projects, followed by the typical "Why Bloomberg?" question. Then we used HackerRank to start with the technical interview.
Problem: https://leetcode.com/problems/first-unique-character-in-a-string/
I gave him the optimal solution. However, he started asking about the hashmap and how to avoid collisions and such stuff. It was interesting to talk about. He asked me to do it in one pass if I had to assume that we're getting the string from a stream:
First Unique Number in Data Stream
Overall, the experience was pretty good as it was my first ever interview, and Im looking forward to see my feedback soon.
