There are 3 parts. General Questions about your preferences, a long test with many timed modules where they gauge how you would respond to situational problems that might come up at work, then a final phone screen.

The phone screen
There were two interviewers but what was spectating and then helped answer questions. He was shadowing and already went through the program. The other interviewer was a senior solution architect and the only one asking questions.
He wanted me to go over my most recent job experience. He seemed generally interested.
He then asked a series of questions where he wanted me to tell him everything I know about a particular subject like: san / nas, https, ssl, oauth 2.0, web frameworks, etc.
There is a problem with your customers database, it says 'no connection' on their website . What is the issue? You sandbox it and the problem is the same. You know it has to be on the database side. I said perhaps the rules have timed out from having them open during testing or these requests need authentication so I'd have to see how the database is configured.

It might have been because:

  • They may have thought I really was looking for more of a software engineer role.
  • They probably did not like I'm still in school for 5 months of the 1 year training program.
  • Need stronger general knowledge around cloud services, network arcitecuture, devops trouble shooting; although during the interview I felt good on the questions.
