The Bloomberg interviews posts helped me in the technical parts of the interview so I wanted to share my experience too. I don't feel comfortable sharing the specific questions I was asked but most questions can be found on the Bloomberg tagged questions on LeetCode. Notice I said most, not all.
Phone interview lasted 1 hour and I was asked 2 medium level questions with some followups, along with questions on my resume. Both questions found on Bloomberg tagged questions.
Decision: One day later. Onsite scheduled
The on-site first consisted of 2 technical interviews. I was asked 1 LC medium in the first, and multiple followups & discussions regarding possible approaches.
Second interview consisted of a LC medium and a LC hard. Searched the Bloomberg tagged questions after the interview and couldn't find the hard question. The interviewer was really nice and kept guiding me to the right solution. Was able to scrap up an optimized solution using all the hints.
HR and Senior manager rounds followed. Got grilled during senior manager round but was mostly able to hold my own. Lots of technical questions from concepts mentioned in my resume and a system design question to end. As mentioned in previous post, this is a collaborative round so communicating in this round is important.
HR round was an open & pleasant discussion. General cultual fit & Why do you want to work here type questions. This was the quickest round and lasted 25 mintues.
Will update when I hear back about the result in a week.
General Thoughts:
Interviewers are very friendly and nice. They keep acknowledging you through your thought process so don't hestitate to communicate what you're thinking.
Overall, a nice experience for an onsite interview.
