Twitter | Engineering Manager | Remote | Phone Screen

Applied through Twitter's jobs site and recruiter reached out after 2 weeks to set up a phone screen. I had one of the worst interview experience in my life. Interviewer was Sr Manager who showed up 10 mins late and from very first sentence he looked uninterested in conversation and did very less to start positive conversation. He spent more time talking about himself than asking me about my background. Asked very generic questions like responsibilities of EM and teams I am managing. He didn't ask anything about my technical or leadership experience. After talking to me for 15 mins, he asked me if I have any questions for him. When I asked him about typical day for EM at Twitter, he was not able to tell me what he does at Twitter. He just mumbeled few things that he was not putting any thoughts around. I knew before I ended the call that I will get the rejection from this phone screen. Complete waste of everybody's time. I don't think twitter has nailed down the screening process for EM role and based on my experience I can tell that culture and leadership at Twitter is very unorganized. Stay away from this company.
