7 years experience in banking domain, working on legacy framework and tools mostly.

got a call from consultancy recruiter in May .later after a week, was contacted by amazon recruiter.

Online assesment:
2 easy questions on (hashmap,sorting with custom comparator). in both questions i dint pass all test cases .(~75% tests passed in both questions)

Next week,recruiter contacted and said reponse is positive and scheduled a screening on 3rd week of month.

Since i havent faced any interview in last 3 years,I told recruiter to give me time of one month to prepare .She agreed and kept screening round in June.

Telephonic Screen round:
1.software design problem for their internal system.
i think i did good here , had a healthy discussion with interviwer.

recruiter scheduled onsite rounds on last week of June,but it did not happen as team which i was supposed to be interviewed had an outage on that day.

Virtual Onsite interview happened in July .

Round 1:
coding (LC medium)+ LP
given a scenario where i have to create a data structure to hold data and clone the same.
I took lot of time in deciding which data structure should be used here,ended up coding half solution.Interviewer gave me lot of hints but could not understand and pre assumed many things.this round really went bad.

Round 2:
LP + System design
new system design question not seen on gr-o - k ing or any youtube videos.
Had a good discussion with interviewer , he asked lot of follow up questions(typical system design questions) , I was able to answer those.
I did okay in this round,but i knew due to horrible 1st round i will not able to make it.

Round 3:
it was scheduled on same day but no one joined from their side.HR told me it will be reschduled.(havent heard back from anyone till now).

Preparation:
I would like to thank amazon recruiter to give me one month to prepare.
if I would have not got that month i would have not known this leetcode community.

started doing leetcode from month of may, was struggling a lot in easy questions intially.
I focused on top interview questions but realised i dont have knowledge on basic things like(2 pointer,traversing linklist,brute force approaches , etc).youtube videos helped me here .
after 15 days, i was able to solve easy questions.
started daily coding challenge as well.
Believe me, everyday i wait clock to turn up 1230 pm IST to check new question for the day.

did couple of interviews on pr-a - mp on system design.

Created a sheet for stories for behvioural rounds.(this helped a lot )

I know i have a moutain to climb if i want to crack any FAANG, I will focus more on my coding skills.
