🧑💻 Self-Introduction
Hi, I'm Ayush Keshari, a final-year CSE student at IIIT Jabalpur.
I actively practice DSA — Knight on LeetCode with 600+ problems solved and Specialist on Codeforces.
UKG recently visited our campus for the SDE Intern position(Criteria- 7+CGPA), and I’m glad to share that I cracked it.
✅Online Assessment Round
- The OA consisted of 21 questions in total — 20 MCQs and 1 DSA coding problem.
- The MCQs covered OOPs, DBMS, Operating Systems, and Aptitude, so the test was a good mix of both CS fundamentals and logical reasoning.
- The coding question was around LeetCode Medium difficulty.
- After the OA, 29 students were shortlisted for interviews.
✅Round 1 — Technical Interview(around 45 mins)
- DSA: Sliding Window problem — find the length of the longest substring with all unique characters, followed by a follow-up to print the substring itself.
- SQL: Query to find the Second Highest Salary.
- DBMS: Discussed methods to implement Atomicity and Durability in transactions.
- Operating Systems: Concepts related to deadlock and deadlock prevention methods.
- 1 puzzle asked — easy level.
✅Round 2 — Technical Interview(around 1 hrs)
- DSA: Implement LRU Cache
- SQL: A complex query involving 3 tables and JOIN operations (don’t remember the exact query, but it covered multi-table joins and filtering).
- OOPS: Discussed all four pillars in depth with multiple tricky follow-up questions.
- LLD: Designed a Parking Lot system (oral explanation of structure) and also explained SOLID principles.
- 1 puzzle asked.
✅Round 3 — Managerial Interview (around 45 mins | Tech + HR Mix)
- It was a mix of technical discussion and behavioral/HR questions.
- Opinion-based question: “Is AI good or bad according to your perspective?”.
- Project discussion: Since I mentioned using Docker and Kubernetes, the interviewer asked practical commands and workflow related to both.
- Database design task: Asked to prepare the database schema of LinkedIn — focused on identifying tables, relationships, and scalability considerations.
- Also covered HR-style questions about teamwork, handling pressure, strengths/weaknesses, and project decision-making.
✅Round 4 — HR Interview (around 30 mins)
- Discussion on family background
- Multiple general HR questions (strengths, weaknesses, why UKG, etc.)
- Asked for preferred job location — I chose Noida
The entire interview process was smooth and well-organized
In the end, I'm happy to share that I got selected for a 6-month SDE internship at UKG, and I was one of the 3 students who made it.
