Screening Round: (Taken by another SWE)
Time alloted: 45 min.
This was heavily focused on my resume. No DSA questions were asked.
It felt like a conversation and was mostly focused on my technical experiences at various companies and teams, what were my learnings and takeaways.
Few leadership principle based questions were asked:
- How do you resolve conflicts with your peer?
- Tell me a time when you proposed a design to your lead and had to convince him/her that it would fulfill the usecase? How do you pushback when someone is not convinced?
- How do you give feedback to your junior team members?
- What GenAI tools do you use in your day-to-day life? How does it improve your efficiency?
- How do you upskill yourself?
- Describe any recent project that you worked on, where you had to implement the feature using a technology that you were not familiar with? How was the learning curve?
Also had to talk about my current project in great detail, since its also related to Ads, and interviewer seemed interested in it.
Recruiter reached out after 2 weeks for scheduling the loop rounds.

Q. Design distributed rate limiter.
Multiple internal microservices (e.g., Payments, Orders, Inventory, Risk) communicate over HTTP/gRPC and expose backend APIs—internal, non-client-facing service endpoints.
Design a system that controls and enforces request limits on calls made by internal services to these backend APIs.
LP Question: You have raised a PR for a feature and you have received many comments upon review. How do you deal with it and how do you take it to closure?
