Bloomberg | Interview Experience | Senior Software Engineer | NYC | Nov 2025

I interviewed at Bloomberg in November for 3 teams and got onsite for 1 which did not result in an offer. Below is my experience. I got reached out by their recruiter.

Phone Screen (3 teams)
All questions for each team were from https://leetcode.com/discuss/post/964672/bloomberg-phone-interview-prepration-lis-ge8t/

Format is 15-20 min resume questions, 20-25 for 1 coding question and last 5-10 min for any other questions.

Virtual Onsite (1 team)
1 coding [be prepared for 2 questions], 1 system design. If you clear that, then you get moved to Director, EM and HR rounds.

  1. Started with resume questions for 25 mins not leaving much time for coding questions.

First coding question was a variation of graph BFS question + frequency count. Had to figure what is the frequency count for nodes at specific level provided in input.

Second coding was LLD for library checkout + with SQL query.

  1. System Design. Again 25 min resume questions and experience with scaling, then question from Hello Interview system design. Due to time constraints, be ready to move fast and skip straight to core design and discuss tech stack, scaling issues, etc.

Did not move to next rounds :(

Overall, it was a great experience and all engineers I talked to were very nice and experienced. Hope this helps someone...Gluck!
