My Vymo Interview Experience — Feeling Disappointed but Sharing for Awareness

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share something that’s been on my mind.
I have 2 YOE.
I recently interviewed with Vymo in September–October 2025. I was genuinely excited — the role matched my skills perfectly, and the process started off really smoothly.

The rounds went like this:
1️⃣ Online Assessment – 2 medium DSA questions
2️⃣ Machine Coding – Build a working Snake & Ladder game with extensibility
3️⃣ LLD + HLD – Design a Room Management System (schema + queries)
4️⃣ Managerial Round – Focused on my projects and problem-solving
5️⃣ Hiring Manager Round – General discussion about my work and goals

After every round, I got positive feedback. The HR even confirmed multiple times that I was selected and said they’d be offering 15–16 LPA (my current is 13 LPA, and I had mentioned an expectation of around 19 base).
I was okay with 15–16 and felt happy that all my effort was paying off.

Then the waiting started.
Days turned into weeks. I kept following up, and every time the HR said the offer was “under approval.”

Finally, after several follow-ups, she called back — and suddenly said the budget had changed, and they could only offer 9 + 1 LPA.
That’s way below my current salary.

It honestly broke my heart.
Not because of the number, but because of how things were handled.
I spent hours preparing, giving 5 rounds, getting told I was selected — and then, in the end, this.

I completely understand that companies have budget constraints, but transparency matters.
If compensation is a concern, it should be discussed upfront — not after the candidate has invested weeks of time and hope.

It’s sad to see how often this happens now.
We, as candidates, prepare sincerely, juggle our current work, and still give our best — and all we expect is fairness and honesty in return.

I’m sharing this not out of anger, but disappointment.
Because every time this happens, it quietly chips away at someone’s confidence.

If you’ve ever gone through something similar, you’re not alone.
Let’s keep supporting each other and keep pushing for more respectful hiring practices.
