Interview Process:
Got contacted by recruiter in Feb, 2020 about Mobile Dev role in Amazon, Toronto.
Step 1.) AMCAT online assestment containing 2 questions from the listed question list present on Leetcode

Was informed by recruiter in a couple of weeks that they would like to directly proceed with the on-sites(earlier I was told there would be phone screening round as well).

Step 2.) On-site Interviews

**Round 1: LP + 1 OOPS design question. **

The question was something about designing a system of square on which there is going to be input on the couple of sides of the square and output is going to be presented on the other 2 sides.
This had a follow-up question as well, in which the squares could be combined as well.

To be honest, I didnt completely understand the question, but took hints from the interviewer himself as to in which direction he would like me to proceed with the solution.
Although I was able to carve out a good design for the question(classes, interfaces, etc), but did not feel too good at the end of this round.

**Round 2: LP + 1 DS/Algo question. **

The question was a word-combination problem. Given severals words in an array, find all the words which could be a combination of more than 1 word in the same array.

Solved it with the backtracking solution. The interviewer was confused about my solution and did not understand it initially. I had to spend a lot of time explaining my solution to her. But at the end she understood and accepted the solution. Did not get time to optimize it further.

Round 3: Hiring Manager Round - LP + 1 System design question
Design Cab booking application like Uber.

Round 4 : Bar Raiser: LP + 1 DS/Algo question
The question was based on topological sort. Was lucky to get this question as I was practising it just before the interviews. :-)

Was informed by the recruiter within 5 hours of the last interview that the feedback is positive.
Got the offer within a week.

PS: Didn't accept the offer as I got better offer from Fb, London.

Approach I followed for the preparation:

**DS/Algo : **

Overall this was my 3rd attempt at Amazon in a time duration of 3-4 years. I had been practising LC question for the last couple of years not on regular basis though. Almost 1 month before when I had to appear for interviews, I started a new session on LC and solved 60+ problems irrespective of whether I had solved them earlier.
I tried to solve them as if I am actually solving them in an interview scenario(solving them quickly). This helped me to boost my confidence.

Leadership Principles :
For Amazon LP questions carry a lot of value.
A day prior to interviews, I wrote down the my earlier experinces corresponding to Amazon Leadership principles on a piece of paper in form of bullet points. This is a must-do in my opinion becuase during the interview you will not get a lot a time recollecting your past experiences.

Last but not least, dont give up. In my experience, cracking FANG interviews is not a rocket science.
