Round 1: Code Sample Round

I received an invite from google in April 2020 to give a code sample round. In this round there were 2 coding questions and I also had to fill a form along with it that had behavioural questions.
In the code sample, they asked 2 simple straightforward questions.
a. Question was similar to max sum by taking total k elements from either end of array (total K elements can be taken)
b. This question was based on string. I do not remember the exact question but it was pretty straight forward.

Round 2: Phone Interview

I got a mail from my recruiter stating that they wanted to move forward with a phone interview. My interview was scheduled in May 2020. I was asked to solve 2 questions in 45 minutes.
a. Find the total time it takes to send a file from root to all nodes in an n-arry tree.
b. Follow up question, if instead of a tree, we were given a graph then how will we calculate the total time it takes to send the file.

I was able to solve both the questions within the given time.

I got a mail from my recruiter after 4 days. It stated that my interview went well but they are winding down their hiring for Software Developer.

My thoughts:
For preparation I solved around 300 questions in the span of 1.5 months on LeetCode. Most of the questions I solved was from the Google tagged questions.
I do not know whether to take the last mail I got, from my recruiter, as a polite rejection or my interview actually went well and they have currently frozen their hiring.

But nonetheless I am really happy that I got this opportunity and I will work harder to seize it the next time I come across another opportunity.
