Problem 1: Variation of Number of Islands - passed all test cases
Problem 2: Variation of Articulation Points - some test cases aren't passed
Virtual Onsite:
Round 1:
First 30 mins are LP's
Leetcode Question Word Ladder (https://leetcode.com/problems/word-ladder/)
Aced this round and coded the question with optimal solution. Able to clear all the followup questions.
Round 2:
Frist 30 mins of LPs
Problem on Graphs, something goes like possibility of finishing all courses given pre-requisites
I have implemented the optimal solution for this without any hints and able to provide time/space complexity
Round 3:
Behavioral round for 1 hour
Round 4:
LPs for 35 min.
System Design: Design a content ingestion system.
Very open ended. I have got only 20 min to design the whole system. This is my first virtual system design interview ever. I struggled a bit to draw flow charts on the tool and convey the final high level design to the interviewer. I couldn't finish designing the whole system in the given time. I could only finish collectiing the requirement, capacity estimation, DB design and basic high level design architecture. There is no time to discuss on cache, load balancers, redundancy etc. I totally bombed this round.
Round 5:
First 30 min of LPs
Something similar to least common ancestor problem with a different wording specific to Amazon products. I aced this round with optimal solution without any hints.
Final Outcome:
After couple of days, got a call from recruiter saying that I was offered but downlevel to SDE 1. I was kind of hoping for this outcome due to my performance in system design round, but still kind of bumped. Now I am confused if I should accept the offer or not. Any suggestions are appreciated?
