Hi I wanted to share my interview experience with Amazon for the role of an SDE-2.

Online Assessment:

  1. Rotten Oranges
  2. No of islands

Virtual Onsite:
Had four rounds 3 coding and 1 system design. Each round had 15-20 minutes of LP questions. In all the rounds the questions were intentionally left vague. You need to ask a lot of clarifying questions and dont make any assumptions.

  1. Coding Round 1 : You can ask questions about a product on Amazon. Both the previous customers and the sellers can answer those questions. How wil you decide who to send the question to?

  2. Coding Round 2: A BFS question which was not exactly like Flood fill but similar.

  3. System Design question : When you buy a product on Amazon , you get a recommendation saying these two items are frequently bought together. Example: Torch and battery are frequently bought together. How will you design such a system

  4. Coding Round 3: Indirect variation of a rate limiter.

If anyone has ideas on how to approach question 1 and question 3 please drop comments.
