Current Experience: 3 year+ at a product based MNC
Recently I appeared for Software Engineer III role in walmart.
There were total of two rounds of interview for me each were one hour round.
Coding round -
It started with introduction and then project discussion.
He asked below easy leetcode coding questions:

I was able to give optimized solution for all starting with brute force solution.
This round went well.
LLD and Java round -
It started with introduction and project discussion.
Then he asked with one coding question -

I was able to write optimized solution starting with brute force.
Then he asked below questions:
- Advantage and disadvantage of kafka and also kafka packet size limit value
- Jdbc vs Hibernate. I could not speak much because i mostly used Jpa or hibernate instead of JDBC in my project.
- Checked vs unchecked exception
- How can we send large data to client apart from SFTP?
- Few bits got currupt while sending file it to client , how can we identify them? I answered using file checksum.
- Improvement of Java 8 to 11 to 17
- Internal working of HashMap. Got to know in recent version hashmap is using tree which i was not aware although we treeMap, i have to investigate that.
- Jvm memory model
- Garbage collection and ways to make an object eligible for it
- Garbage collection types and their usecase
- Major and minor in G1 garbage collector. I was knowing G1 GC and its usecase but was not knowing this major and minor in G1 GC. Actually who knows this until and unless he need these minor details.
- Any situation when you faced deadlock in project? I could not remember any such scenario so could not answer.
Their was not any LLD question for which I came prepared for. I answer around 80% of them for rest 20% I feel it was quite minor details or scenario based questions like kafka packet size limit, major minor in G1GC or deadlock situation faced in project.
I recieved rejection mail on EOD. I asked feedback, she said she would share detail feedback after couple of days but did not share. I guess second round was not up to the mark for them.
