Timeline

  • Applied late January directly on website
  • Received OA 3 parts
    -First part: Debugging (7/7)
-Second part: Coding- 2 LC problems (all test cases passed) followed by a small work style assessment
-Third part: Work environment simulation followed by logical ability test
  • Received notification of passing the OA on March 11th and was put into waiting list for onsite
  • Received virtual onsite invite on April 3rd. Interview scheduled for April 22
    Virtual Onsite
  • Three 1-hour interviews. First half was lots of questions on Leadership Principles while the other half was coding.
  • The coding problems, I felt, weren't really difficult at all as much as I was expecting.
  • I got nervous and feel like I kind of messed up the first interview which I believe must be the main cause of rejection.
  • Interviewers were all really nice.
  • Received rejection 5 business days later.

Key Takeaways

  • Tbh, I wasn't really expecting to make it to Amazon. However, the past few months have taught me that it is not really THAT HARD to qualify. I think the techincal questions asked throughout were pretty easy.
  • Practice and prepare LP stories thoroughly!
  • Every interviewer has their own style of asking questions. The first and third interviewers just verbally spoke the technical problem to me and I had to ask questions and build everything from scratch. The 2nd interviewer gave me a problem very much like what we do here on LC, with the method structure, sample inputs and outputs etc. I think my 2nd interview was my best.
  • None of my questions were from the LC Amazon tags.
  • I'm disappointed, but I am sure that I will make it one day
  • LC community is amazing!
