Accenture Interview Experience - Associate Software Engineer (ASE)

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well. I hope your placement preparation is going extremely well. Haha! Does it seem like you are reading an email? Because of the way I’m writing this article, it feels the same to me.

Okay, so now let’s dive in to first understand the rounds that Accenture conducts for the ASE role. There are four rounds in total. The details are mentioned below:

  • Aptitude and Cognitive Ability
  • Coding Assessment
  • Communication Assessment
  • Interview

Aptitude and Cognitive Ability
There are MCQs in this round, and they test almost all our skills, including logical reasoning, verbal reasoning, critical reasoning, common applications and MS Office, Networking fundamentals, Security fundamentals, and pseudocodes. Yes, it looks like a lot, but the level is moderate to difficult. Sometimes, the correct answer to some questions is not present in the options.

Coding Assessment
Once you clear the aptitude round, you are required to attempt the coding round. This happens just after the Aptitude round; it nearly takes 5 minutes to evaluate the aptitude section and show the result as “Congratulations! You are allowed to take the Coding Assessment.” Now, you have two questions in this coding round, one easy and one medium.

The questions that I encountered were:

Find the number of unique characters in a given string. For example: string - abcdbdc, output - 4
Find the number of substrings in the given string that follow the following pattern: 1[0]*1

Communication Assessment
This section comprises listening, speaking, Q/A, rephrasing sentences, storytelling, and answering an open-ended question. The assessment is taken at home, and you are required to have headphones and be in a quiet place so that no background noise is present or detected. If any background noise occurs from your earphones, you are given one more chance to attempt the assessment.

Interview
The interview is again an online interview, and you are required to select the slots for your interview. My interviewer asked four questions:

Introduce yourself.
Explain any one of your projects.
Difference between double linked list and circular linked list.
A real-world example to differentiate between private and protected.
The time taken for the interview was around 15 minutes.

So, this was all about my accenture interview process and after around 20 days, I received the congratulations mail.

Yes, I was able to get the offer for the Associate Software Engineer role.

Lastly, I wish you all the best for your placement journey. If you have any more queries, feel free to reach out to me.
