I applied for SE-2 opportunity at microsoft through referral and got OA links in couple of days
**OA Round : **
- Multi Source BFS problem related to shortest path
- Design autocomplete search in react
I cleared OA and got interview invite in couple of weeks. They mentioned 3 rounds of interview and all 3 happened on same day
**Round 1 : **
Interviewer was really chill guy both of us gave intro and he asked some questions related to my projects. Later he gave 2 DSA questions and expected working code
- Matrix question with binary search
- Variation of Island problem
I was able to solve both the problems and was able to write working code. Then he asked me to write test cases and suggestions on how this code can be improved and made production ready. Overall I would rate this as Strong Hire and interviewer was extremely satisifed
**Round 2 : **
This was HLD round the interviewer came and straight gave the problem..Problem was to design instagram feed we had a really detailed discussion on db schema APIs and how to optimize feed and handling the celbrity problem..Later he also asked what analytics features can you add to instagram. Then after that he asked few questions on my project and few behavioural questions..Overall this round also went really good and I would rate this between Hire and Strong Hire
**Round 3 : **
Interviewer joined 20 mins late and it was bit off rough start since we faced technical issues.
He asked me to design paint in react. We first discussed the scope of problem and I went too much backend detail of paint rather than sticking on frontend. In the end he was ok with backend part but was not satisifed with frontend design. I would rate this leaning hire
After 1 week HR told me that position is on hold and they ll update me once new Job request is created.Still waiting for updates from HR :( ...What are my chances guys do I have chance or shld I consider this as reject
