## Background\nCS student in one of the university in APAC area (QS Top 50, 2019)\n## Preparation\nA month, practiced about 50 leetcode easy-medium problems and 10 hard ones right after the application.\n## Interview schedule and contents\nCannot show too much due to NDA.\nSeems Google internship in APAC is a bit harder than US? (not very sure)\n* Interview invitation: 3rd week of March.\n* Phone interview: 4th week of March\n\t* A leetcode easy to medium-level problem (only the level, but there the same problem does not exist), not too hard. Was able to came up the optimal solution and the interviewer was quite satisfied with it. Overall very smooth.\n* Virtual on-site (same as phone interview via hangout meets): 1st week on April\n\t* P1: A CS-background problem not related too much to algorithm as warmup, but was asked to optimize with the fundamental knowledges in OS. (Discussed about 15mins here)\n\t* P2 (25 - 30 mins left, bombed here) A interval query / updating (yes, asked to implement 2 functions) problem disguised in another form. Came up a solution with linear time complexity.  The interviewer was not satisfied with it, asking to optimize but I was not able to think of "segment tree (logN)" in the time limit with pressure nor did the interviewer gave any hints to me. The timer just went off and I had not finished any of the optimization  (Actually I was not even prepared for segment tree (or fenwick tree, binary indexed tree) as well, which is my bad)\n\n## Result\n* A thank you letter after a week to inform that I was rejected.\n\n## Conclusion\nI should practice more of the upper level algorithms and data structures since it seems that APAC Google is a bit harder than USA Google.\n\n\nSorry for my English if it is not fluent.
